Who flies there, and how much does it cost? Camai Air, Kusko Aviation, Grant Air - $40 one-way. If one has a lot of baggage, it is advisable to charter from one of the air taxi services mentioned above, or from other outfits such as Craig Air. A Cessna 172 (3 seats) can be chartered for about $100 one way; a Cessna 207 (six sits) is about $160 one way. When you reach your site, how do you get from the airport to your home? Just follow the ten foot wide boardwalk towards the biggest building you see, which is the school. Its about 3/4 mile from the airport. How big is the village? 400 people Whats the weather like, and what is it like in August? The weather will be rainy and quite likely windy when you arrive in August; be prepared. Stores? Are they well stocked or do you order? There are three stores. All of the teachers do some shopping in Bethel and Anchorage, particularly for fresh produce. If you order, who do you recommend? Costco, Fred Meyer and Alaska Bush Service. What should a new teacher bring? Warm clothes, snow boots, hunting and fishing stuff,
snowmobile, boat, rain coat, rubber boots etc.
