LKNEA and LKSD have not reached a tentative agreement in regards to the certified teachers contract, on September 3rd the teams will met with a mediator to attempt to reach a tentative agreement. Progress was being while in mediation and both sides agreed to continue with the assistance of the mediator. At the mediator's request neither side will be making statements as to current positions. They are currently working to schedule a time to continue negotiations with the mediator.
Classified Negotiations will begin this January. LKNEA is currently seeking interested members to be on the Negotiations Team and Negotiations Support Team. If you are interested in being on either team please contact LKNEA President Chip Hagedorn.
